Making Science Accessible |
|
Jan Riise and Agadem AB make science, research and innovation accessible for dialogue
and communication. Our work includes articles, conferences, exhibits, festival activities,
science parliaments, and other formats where public, policy makers and researchers meet.

Agadem AB co-organized a presentation in Nordstan during the Science Festival,
called "The Better Brain". Main message is that physical exercise is good for the brain, as
the increased flow of blood contributes to the creation of new brain cells.
Jan Riise was invited as a keynote speaker to the Journ閑s Hubert Curien in Nancy,
France, in September 2012. The talk, "Scandinavian Engagment in Science" is now published as an article
in "Science Communication Today", published by CNRS Editions.
See presentation on CNRS website
Agadem AB is a member of European
Science Events Association. Jan Riise was the president of the association 2008-2010, and part-time
director since 2013.

Places of Scientific Culture is the final conference of the EU-funded PLACES project. Eusea as one of the
consortium partners with Ecsite and ERRIN, is organising the conference and Jan Riise, as director of Eusea, chairs the
programme committee of the conference. The conference will discuss the characteristics of a "City of Scientific Culture" - including
evidence based policies and citizens' access to science, e.g through festivals and science centres.
XS - An International Meeting Place for Science and Dialogue in Lund
Next to the impressive research infrastructures that are under construction in Lund, ESS and MAX-IV,
there will be a "Science Village" with labs and research institutes but also guesthouse, restaurants and coffee shops, as well as
exhibitions and meeting places. Jan Riise and Elisabet Johnson presented the "XS" proposal in late 2012 for the creation
of a science and visitors centre of international excellence for dialogue and exchange of knowledge and experiences
between science and society.
